Electrotherapy is a part of physical therapy that uses the therapeutic effect of various forms of electrical energy. The electrical current passes through the skin into the human body through the attached electrodes and its healing effect depends on the frequency used. The optimal frequency is indicated by an experienced physician or physiotherapist. The most frequently used are low-frequency and medium-frequency currents.
